A New Immigrant Caravan is Making Its Way Towards Our Border

More than 2,000 more illegal immigrants are headed towards the Texas border as part of the "Way of the Cross" caravan. They are expected to arrive at the Texas border within a matter of days. A new immigrant caravan, led by Mexican activists, is making its way towards the Texas border in El Paso, with over 2,000 illegal immigrants expected to arrive within days. The group, which departed from Mexico's Tapachula, is led by churches in Mexico to assist the mostly South American immigrants who make it into the United States. The final fate of the controversial Texas border security law SB 4 remains uncertain. If SB 4 is not allowed to take effect before this new caravan arrives, any immigrant who makes it past the border barriers will have to be turned over to federal authorities and likely released into Texas.

More than 2,000 additional illegal immigrants are heading towards the Texas border in El Paso as part of the "Way of the Cross" caravan. They are expected to arrive at the border within a matter of days. The first group of the caravan recently entered Chihuahua City, which is about 230 miles south of El Paso.

They departed from the Mexican city of Tapachula on Monday, chanting "A la frontera!" which means "to the border!"

The caravan is led by Mexican activists who are coordinating with churches in Mexico to help the mostly South American immigrants reach the United States. It's unknown if the caravan will all attempt to cross into Texas at once or splinter into smaller groups that will cross at different border towns.

This news comes as the final fate of the Texas border security law SB 4 remains unknown. SB 4 would allow Texas personnel to arrest and deport illegals that make it into Texas. However, if SB 4 is not allowed to take effect before this new caravan arrives, any immigrant who makes it past the Texas border barriers will have to be turned over to federal authorities and likely released into Texas.
