How Borderland residents can protect pets during Halloween
El Paso Animal Services is providing pet owners with safety tips to protect animals from various hazards during the upcoming Halloween festivities. El Paso's Animal Services Department has issued a list of safety measures for pets during Halloween, including keeping pets indoors and secure due to frequent door openings and unfamiliar visitors. Make sure pets wear identification, including a readable collar tag with a current phone number, and write your phone number directly on your pet's collar as an added safety measure. A microchip can reunite lost pets with their families if your contact information is up to date. If your pet is not microchipped, free microchipping events can be found at ElPasoAnimalServices.org.
