The forthcoming children's museum La Nube in downtown El Paso just announced another mural by an El Paso artist.

Gabriel Marquez will unveil his mural "Kissed by the Sun" when La Nube opens its door later in the year.

According to La Nube, the mural will capture the beauty of our region by showcasing the desert landscape and wildlife.

Marquez said of his mural,

The Texas and New Mexico accounting firm Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. supported the creation of the mural, as they are firm supporters of inspiring the youth of the borderland through STEAM.

“We are committed to enriching our community's cultural and educational foundations. Our collaboration with La Nube is more than a philanthropic endeavor. It is an embodiment of our commitment to the vibrant future of El Paso. We are honored to support a space where children can explore, innovate, and envision new possibilities. Our contribution to the cultural framework of our community is a step forward in continuing a tradition of service, leadership, and dedication for the benefit of El Paso's future generations,” said Matt Kerr, Managing Partner at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co.

No exact date has been provided for the opening of La Nube yet.

According to La Nube's announcement, Marquez’s work explores thoughts of motion and stillness through the use of progressive contour lines, which depict a pictorial realm that wanders between emptiness and fullness. His images are the culmination of a continuous flow of intricate linear forms with the motif of intertwining threads. Known for his intricate line drawings of fantastically surreal beings and dreamscapes, Marquez often works intuitively and allows the markings he creates to bring about the final outcome of the composition’s imagery.
