'Disturbing, unacceptable.' KKK costumes spark outrage in El Paso
Ku Klux Klan costumes worn at a party draw sharp criticism in El Paso, Texas. A group of teenagers dressed in Ku Klux Klan robes at an apparent Halloween gathering in El Paso has sparked outrage, with the U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar and the El Paso branch of the NAACP condemning the incident. The El Paso chapter will hold a news conference on Monday, Oct. 26, to address the issue. Escobar called the KKK's history of white supremacy, racial terror, and violence against Black Americans and other communities of color unacceptable. The Ku Klux Klux Klan, which dates back to 1865, is considered the oldest terrorist group in the United States for its history of racist violence.
