This is one of 255 […] Hilary Freyre, a U.S. citizen, has been charged with immigrant smuggling for allegedly attempting to smuggle two undocumented minors into the U.K. through the Paso Del Norte Port of Entry in El Paso. A criminal complaint alleges that Freyre presented her Texas identification card and two birth certificates, one from Texas and one from New Mexico, on behalf of the minors. The complaint also alleges that while the CBPO was questioning the minors, Freyre repeatedly interrupted. She claimed the children in the photo were not her children and the birth certificates she presented actually belonged to her two biological children. This is one of 255 new immigration and immigration-related criminal cases filed by prosecutors in the Western District of Texas from Oct. 16-22.
