'Disturbing, unacceptable.' KKK costumes spark outrage in El Paso
Ku Klux Klan costumes worn at a party draw sharp criticism in El Paso, Texas. A group of teenagers dressed in Ku Klux Klan robes at an apparent Halloween gathering in El Paso has been condemned by the U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar and the El Paso branch of the NAACP as "disturbing and unacceptable" incidents. The El Paso chapter will hold a news conference on Monday, Oct. 26, to address the incident. The Ku Klux Klux Klan, a white supremacist hate group that dates back to 1865, has been described as the oldest terrorist group in the United States for its history of racist violence. Escobar stated that the KKK represents a history of white supremacy, racial terror, and violence against Black Americans and other communities of color.
