County leaders, Camino R… El Paso County has celebrated the completion of Phase 1 of the Pelicano Drive Widening Project, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 22. The project began in August 2025 following an agreement between the county and CRRMA. Phase 1 focused on delivering essential improvements that could be completed with remaining funding from the original grant. The improvements included significant roadway reconstruction, drainage enhancements, mobility improvements, and safety upgrades along one of the busiest and fastest-growing transportation corridors in the nation. Following delays, the completion marks a progress milestone for residents and businesses in the Pelacano area.
