An El Paso teen made his debut on the field this weekend-and he wasn't throwing a ball.
15-Year-Old Adonis Loya performed the National Anthem at Sabercats Rugby stadium in Houston, TX on June 8th.
Loya just finished his Sophomore year at Eastwood High School here in El Paso.
The teen has been playing guitar for three years, but said he picked it up quickly.
Loya described how he felt the moments after being chosen by the National Rugby team to perform.
The high schooler said all you need to play a song is to find the right tabs, but playing in front of so many people was a lot of pressure.
The El Paso native says he was excited to play in Houston but the crowd was a bit different.
The teen is on the golf team at Eastwood and a part of the schools theater program, but he says his passion is metal music.
The passion is reflected in his large collection guitars, including but not limited to a replica of Dimebag Daryl's guitar from Pantera, a regular old Fender Stratocaster, a Jackson Randy Rhodes, and a Brandon Smalls replica ghost horse from Epiphone.
Loya will be performing the anthem right here in El Paso at Southwest University park for the Chihuahua's game on September 14th.
