The borderland got a break from the triple-digit temperatures on Monday with the high being 95 degrees.
Some El Pasoans spent the day outdoors to enjoy the break in triple-digit temperatures.
However, the borderland is expected to heat back up on Tuesday hitting 110 degrees daily for the rest of the week.
El Pasoans who spoke with KFOX14 said they are prepared to avoid the sun for the rest of the week.
“Avoid the sun, stay indoors where the AC is cool, and probably just get them out of the house once the sun goes down,” said Cindy Lilis.
However, others said they would just be prepared when heading out the door.
“I know about heat strokes and that they could be intense but I plan to still bring the kids out to have fun they don’t want to be at home," said Mirna Catalan.
El Paso will be under a heat advisory starting Wednesday.
If you are looking for a place to cool down, both El Paso and Las Cruces have cooling stations open to the public.
