Police and the El Paso, Texas, branch of the NAACP are condemning videos showing a group of people, possibly including youths, wearing Ku Klux Klan-style white robes and hoods in social media videos. The videos, which police indicate are in El Paso and the NAACP, show the group walking through a neighborhood while wearing the robes. The NAACP's El Paso branch president, Carl B. Dwyer Jr., called the display deeply hurtful to Black Americans, whom the KKK has been a real-life terror since the Civil War. El Paso Police Chief Peter Pacillas said the department is investigating whether the group, possibly young people, violated any laws, including disorderly conduct or other offenses.
