Ghost story teller Heather Shade from Lost El Paso Paranormal has shared one of the most fascinating stories in El Paso. The Kohlberg Mansion, also known as the Bittersweet Mansion, has a long history tied to influential couples, Ernst and Olga Kohlburg. During an investigation, the team experienced a response through a paranormal communication device, which they believe could have been a female spirit. The home also served as the Mexican Consulate. However, Ernst Kohlenberg was murdered in downtown El Paso by a man who reportedly owed rent. The location of the mansion adds another fascinating dimension to the story, as it sits just across the street from another historic property. There is speculation that the two properties could have once been connected by a tunnel.
